I'm a self-taught photographer, i'm french (about that i apologize for my terrible english) and i'm really new at Photography with a DSLR. I took family or holidays shoots in the past (with my iphone or my old coolpix) but it's only since a year i begin to learn by myself the Photography This photo was taken in France in a town called Ornans. This place is where Gustave Courbet has painted "Miroir d'Ornans". It's basically where i grow up as a kid and where i come back to every year. I had to put the tripod half in the water.Time
I took it november 4th 2013 in the afternoon.Lighting
It wasn't a sunny day so I waited until the sun to come out.Equipment
I use a Nikon D7000, a AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR, and a SIRUI T-005X tripod.Inspiration
I always loved this place and i wanted to try it out. I was experimenting with my first DSLR (bought back in the end of october)Editing
I always shoot in RAW. So i had to post-processing the white balance, the tonality (increased the contraste, decreased highlights and shadows) and i increased the clarity. I rarely post-process more my photosIn my camera bag
My bag (a Lowepro Inverse 200 AW) is full of things. The notifiable are: A Nikon D7000, AF-S NIKKOR 50 mm f/1.8G, AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR, AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 55-300mm f/4.5-5.6G, SIRUI T-005X Tripod, Kenko Automatic Extension Tube Set DG and my Asus Nexus 7 to see my shoots and to make them too ( i use it as a remote control). And some Polaroïd filters.Feedback
As a really newbie my only advice would be to take the time. Take the time to watch the scene, look where the light is coming from, to look for the right place to shoot before unpack the tripod, etc... And to have fun doing it
