This photo was taken in a field in a field in the countryside in Italy. It's a magic place where I got to think.Time
It was taken at my favorite time of day, a few hours before sunset, when the light gets soft and warm during summer days.Lighting
I wanted to capture the golden glimpse among the colors that reflects on flowers, grass and trees at twilight and creates new magic shades. Photographing at twilight is like painting with a golden brush.Equipment
This was shot with a Nikon D80 mounting old 50mm lenses.Inspiration
I was looking at the reflection of light on the tiny yellow flowers, and as they moved with a light breeze it felt like they belonged in a scene from a impressionistic painting. I took my camera and thought if I opened my lens aperture to the maximum i could try and get that dreamy, blurred effect typical of impressionists brush strokes.Editing
I played with the colors in post production using curves, just to get a stronger contrast between the flowers and the rest of the scene.In my camera bag
I usually pick a random camera from my collection before going out, sometimes it's my Canon 5d, or my HOLGA, but most days I'm lazy and I shoot with my phone because it's the most practical choice to carry around.Feedback
Have a deeper look at things and your surroundings. This photo could have not been possible if I didn't take my time to sit on the grass and just observe the nature around me. My mind creates realities when it's at rest, and afterwards i pick the camera and try different ways to turn that vision into a photo. It's all about observing and experimenting. And having fun doing so.
