Long exposure night photo of the Washington DC Capitol.
Because of the different light sources and their varying color casts, I decided to adjust the white balance for the iconic white dome of the Capitol while keeping the green & brown colors of the foliage intact. Together with the HDR processing, the sky then shifted to glowing shades of purple & violet even though in person I remember it being a very dark shade of blue since it was very early in the morning. Still I think it adds a rather nice surreal element to the whole scene, a kind of “purple hour” that might otherwise precede the blue hour of dawn :-)
