Thank you all for your comments. To me a carnival is a location that has so much going on at once.Childhood Memories are made,Romances blossom,Fears are overcome, just to name a few.It is a great place for a Photographer that is always going to be a kid at heart.

Location
I shot this image in Lake Tahoe from the parking lot of a local Casino where this traveling Carnival had set up for the weekend.Time
I figured the sun setting behind the Carnival would make for some great shots so I focused my attention on finding a good location. As we all know once that Sun starts to drop it goes quick so I wanted to be ready.Lighting
As most of us know,Trying to photograph anything with the Sun in the background can be challenging to say the least.I have never taken any Photography courses but what I have taken is thousands of under and over exposed images. What I have learned is when shooting images like this one,you will get better results by using your Histogram instead of your light meter.Equipment
I used my Canon 7D camera with a Sigma 10-20mm lens to capture this shot.I always use my Ravelli apgl4 for shots like this one that may require a slower shutter speed. To top it off I used a remote shutter switch so there is no chance of movement to the camera, but also because it allows me to look around the area while I'm shooting.Inspiration
I photographed the carnival that was 1 year prior to this one and at the same location.A couple of those pictures were accepted by Microsoft and now sit in their Desktop Backgrounds and Wallpaper Gallery for the World to download and enjoy. It opened the door for more of my work to also be put in their Gallery.I truly believe if you hold a passion for something like I do with my photography it will shine through in your work.Editing
I was once embarrassed to admit this, but I never learned how to use Photoshop.I did however learn every aspect of my camera and what its capable of.I have learning a little about Lightroom and use it for its noise reduction but that is the extent of the post-processing.In my camera bag
My Canon backpack that goes everywhere I go consist of my Canon T2i camera,my Canon 7D camera,Sigma 10-20mm lens,Sigma 17-70mm lens, and my Sigma 50-500mm lens.Remote shutter switches for both cameras as well as back up batteries and extra memory cards.Lens cleaning cloths and a water proof bag incase of adverse weather top off the contents of my backpack. My Ravelli tripod is also close at hand wherever I go.There is nothing worse then not having what you need because you left it at home.Feedback
My advice to other photographers is this.In this day and age where everyone has a camera on their cell phones and other devices, you need to be able to take the same photo as 10 other people, but have yours look different.Try different camera settings, try different angles.Think outside the box and you will be happy with the results.
