Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken inside the magnificent Cueva Ventana cave overlooking the Rio Grande de Aricebo in Puerto Rico. I'm only an amateur photo taker, But I was amazed to see it , It came out perfect, But with the beautiful view in front of me, You can't go wrong with it.

Time

This is one of favorite images , i took during my vacation , I distinctly remember ,My family and I were in a long line to go down in this treacherous , muddy and slippery cave at 12 noon , finally got in this beautiful spot around 3 PM in the afternoon. After going down on the this treacherous rocky path, holding a rope due to a slippery mud. and when you get down there, is pitch black. But thankfully I was ready, I bought a flash light, to light our way, Then as we were standing inside this dark cave, you feel like rain drops in your head, you don't know if its water or bat pooped. and then, we walked around in circles just observing the beautiful formation of Stalactites and Stalagmites , and then as we walked down deep deep down the cave, round in like maze Stalagmites we see bright light and a big hole in the end. And here it is the humongous window overlooking the mountains rivers and valleys of Arecibo. It was the most breathtaking view.

Lighting

Just used the natural light from the outside, your inside a dark cave , A sunny day is perfect for it.

Equipment

This was shot on my simple Olympus SZ-12 , 14 megapixel camera . No other equipment was involved.

Inspiration

This reminds me of a mystical place, a big huge window , from the dark world. Overlooking the beautiful valley , rivers and mountains. In some kind of fairy tale land.

Editing

no post-processing involved.

In my camera bag

The first thing I always pack are my Olympus camera's especially the OlYMPUS TOUGH TG -820 and the OLYMPUS SZ-12, it very convenient to put in my small bag .Plus the Olympus Tough Camera is waterproof.

Feedback

The best thing to capture this image is when you visit the Cueva Ventana in a sunny day. You could see everything clear , standing inside a hug cave. Overlooking the beautiful valley , roads, rivers and mountains of Arecibo in Puerto Rico
