The United States Air Force Air Demonstration Squadron, Thunderbirds, demonstrate the calypso pass during the 2010 Wings Over Houston Airshow. The calypso pass is a mirror formation where the F-16's will fly either back to back (shown here) or belly to belly, one aircraft is always inverted. The inverted F-16 is always Thunderbird 5, which has the number 5 painted upside down so it appears right side up while inverted. The pilots of Thunderbird 5 also have the number 5 embroidered upside down on their flight suits (all pilots have their aircraft number embroidered on their flight suits).

Thank you Nicole. I see a lot of these shots but very few with the tail lined up like in ours.

Fantastic! I love that you were able to catch the shadow from the high bird on the lower one.
