Man Vs Nature

Man VS Nature, and MAN won...Barely.

This photograph deserves a long write up. This comes right from my 365 day challenge (Number 76 to be exact) Where to begin, this is my friend Alex. Alex has CP. We decided it would be a wise idea to take him on a hike to 'The Sleeping Giant'. A 5 - 8 hour hike, turned into a daunting 12 hours. Especially for this amazing young man.

I decided to go with the black and white surrounding because, at some points, especially around the end. Alex was spent, he pretty much had no gas left. And was perhaps moments away from passing out. But, his spirit continued to shine bright. So yes, this trek was depressing for him. Not that he did not enjoy it, quite the contrary, he said something like this... "That hike was perhaps one of the most difficult, and terrifying things I have ever done in my life. That being said, I do not regret it one bit. But if you asked me to do it again, I would probably say 'FUCK IT'!"

He was in such great spirits about this hike, and we all had a group bonding moment. And I wan't everyone to know, that this young man, did something that completely able bodied people, would avoid doing. The best part is, he wined alot less too. It was truly an inspirational time, great fun, and at times, depressing. But this man, beat nature. With the help of the camera man, and his brother!
