My best friend and I were traveling 3 hours up state starting at 4 am. As we left town we were talking about how incredible it would be to catch the sunrise coming up over the Mission mountains.. Were we in for a surprise! We stopped for about an hour and just watched the sunlight creep up the backside of the mountains and then burst its face over the top to greet the world with its warm rays.

Thank you all so much for the kind words! This photo is very special to as I find it to portray the beautiful state of Montana very well... and considering it was about 6 am and I am NOT a morning person and rarely see a sunrise! lol I'm glad you all enjoy my photo and thank you ViewBug for choosing it as a feature! :]

This is absolutly beautiful, It would be a nice thing to do anywhere to just stop and absorb nature and all its beauties..This photo is a beautiful dream...A+ love it !!!

Lovely exposure and composition. You captured the moment spectacularly. One of my favorite aspects of this shot is the sprinklers in the foreground, they really complete the image.
