Location
I took this photo in Maksimir Park, Zagreb. It is a city park formed in late 18. century. It includes a quite large forrest and a ZOO. Little paths will take you on a journey around the park.Time
This photo was taken early sunday morning. As you can see, it was autumn and the fog is usual at that time of day. Early sunday morning is my favourite time for a walk in the park. And a great time for photography.Lighting
The key to the lighting is that the sun is just starting to break through the fog and it creates this lovely glow. It does not last for long so it is important to be there early. As much fog as you can get.Equipment
I used CANON 50D with EF-S 10-22 wide angle lens. My favourite lens. It has a very wide angle and it changed the way I look at scenes. I did not use the tripod (probably should have) but I don't like lugging it along. No other equipment used.Inspiration
The atmospere of a foggy forrest and a path leading into the picture was just too hard to miss. The silhouette of a lonely man walking the path was a nice touch but not planned. He just got there.Editing
Corrected overall brightness of the image and reduced noise. Little vignetting added. In my camera bag
CANON 50D body with EF-S 10-22 attached to it, EF 100 macro, EF 70-300, EF 50, remote, cleaning kit, two spare batteries with charger, small (table top) tripod, extra memory card.Feedback
Go early, go alone. Try avoiding including people in your photos (silhouette might work but not necessary). It is low light so you will probably need some kind of tripod. Enjoy the walk and observe. When you see the right scene, you'll know it. Take several shots, keep the horizon horizontal. Composition is very important for this type of photo. Wear warm clothes and comfortable walking shoes. Enjoy the whole process and share the result.
