Location
I took that picture at a dressage-competition in Bavaria. I was there for the competition pictures and afterwards I stayed a while to take some pictures of the horse named "Black Diva" for her owner, a nice young lady.Time
It must have been around 6PM, I don´t know exactly anymore.Lighting
It was a very bright and sunny day and I had to fight a bit with strong shadows, but in this picture everything was just fine.Equipment
I had only my trusted Pentax K5 with me and I used a bit of a flashlight (my old Metz 60ct4) for some pictures, but this one I think, is without.Inspiration
I wanted to do a bit of a postprocessing out of the normal horse-photoshoot range. It should look a bit more like an old postcard with subdued colors and a fainting attire. The shoot was a normal Horseportrait shoot with and withoud rider on a beautiful, hot day with the bluest sky.Editing
I wanted to do a bit of a postprocessing out of the normal horse-photoshoot range. It should look a bit more like an old postcard with subdued colors and a fainting attire. This picture should build a contrast to the real pictures, which are very colorful, clear with a pretty crisp sharpness. This picture was to look soft, creamy and should look a bit like from another time. So I used a few actions in Photoshop on different layers, used masks and after a while of trial and error for the feeling I wanted to create, came out with this picture. I am happy with it now.In my camera bag
I only take my nessecary stuff with me, because I have to carry it with me for 8-10 hours at a competition. I´m often at places with lots of dust, dirt, hay and sometimes rain, too, so I bought my camera especially equipped against this dangers. My K5 is strong and sealed against dirt and drizzle ;-) I mostly have 2-3 lenses with me,that range fro 19mm to 300mmFeedback
