Very nice shot! Love the look in his eyes, the background, and that cute little face! Adorable!

Location
We went to a park for Memorial Day and I took this photograph of my friend's boy.Time
It was around 3-4pm in the afternoon. I took a couple shots of him before he waddled off to play with the other kids.Lighting
I used natural lighting and it was in the shade. I prefer it because it doesn't have the harsh lighting that flash sometimes gives.Equipment
I was using my friend's camera at the time: a Canon EOS 40D with a macro lens.Inspiration
I love portrait shots and of children (especially macro shots) because you can capture their thoughts and emotions through their face.Editing
I edited the photo slightly with Photoshop CS3 but it didn't need too much touching up.In my camera bag
I now own a Canon Rebel EOS DIGITAL REBEL XSi with the kit lens that come with it, a 18-55mm.Feedback
Take lots of pictures! You might not get what you want if you just take one. I've learned and improved because I was encouraged to take a lot. Also think about the rule of thirds, it will balance the photograph as well as make it more interesting.
