Location
This was shot on a hiking trip to Madeira. Our tour went to the most eastern part of the island.Time
It must have been half the way of the day trip, so some time after 2pm.Lighting
As I expected the sky to become to white on a single picture I made a three picture bracketing shot. At home I mixed them together as a HDR to match the true colors I felt while beeing there.Equipment
I used my Canon 7D. For HDR shots (most time made by hand and without breathing or any heart beats :-) ) I have a stored setting C3 on my camera. 3 because of the three bracketing shots it fires. All time lens is my 24-105mm L IS USM.Inspiration
The view there was simply wonderful. You have to be on Madeira at least once.Editing
Just some HDR, in this case using Photomatix pro. Nowadays I might try it in Lightroom. In my camera bag
I stuff as many things in my bag as the airline allows as hand luggage. My Canon 7D body with the 24-105 lens attached. At least one wide angle or fish eye, a 300mm tele for some animals posing for me. Lensbaby edge 80 and other ones like sweet spot. And for the relaxing time I shoot using my Leica M7 using only b/w film. Makes a difference when switching the cameras, shooting an analog picture and then looking at the back of the Leica realizing there won't be a LCD preview! :-)Feedback
Landscapes are fairly easy to shoot. Just have luck with your timing and weather and get a combination of sea, mountains and sky/clouds.
