I took this picture from my dining room window in our backyard. I am a self taught photographer and I am learning everyday.Time
I took this photo at lunch time. I had my camera set - up for the red squirrels in our backyard and I did not expect to see much activity as it was snowing and cloudy out. To my surprise this red squirrel seemed to enjoy itself in the snow and I was thrilled to capture it with the snow covering it's head.Lighting
The light was natural cloudy day, I did not use a flash as it was through our dining room window.Equipment
I used a tripod, 100-400mm lens and the camera was a Canon 70D. No flash was used.Inspiration
I love nature photography, so I have my camera with me where ever I go. I live out in the middle of no where with lots of wild life, so everyday is an adventure. Red squirrels are one of my favourite to photograph because they can have fun personalities and be quite the characters.Editing
I cleaned up the photo by taking some noise out and also cropped the photo. In my camera bag
I normally carry 3 lenses 100-400mm, 24-105mm and 50mm lens. It can be heavy to lug around so I usually know what I am looking for that day and might only take one lens for a lighter load but sometimes that doesn't always work out.Feedback
My only advice is always be ready for the unexpected. I always have a camera with me where ever I go - you just never know :)
