Location
My photo was taken at (york bird of prey centre) a fantastic day out especially if you want to capture some fantastic photos of birds of prey.Time
It was in the early afternoon i would say around about 14.00 ish,but the weather was changing constantly, so as you can imagine trying to get the image was very time frustrating to say the least.Lighting
I always try and take my pictures with the sun behind me which is think is really important,by not doing so this can lead upto having bad shadows on your object.plus i dont use any flash equipment at all for taking pictures of birds.Equipment
My equipment i used for this photo was the Nikon d5100 + nikon 300 f.4 afs ed lense with a 1.4 tele converter. there was no tripods used or any other equipment.Inspiration
Ive always wanted to see birds of prey close up so this was a perfect chance to get a photo of a golden eagle.Editing
There was no processing used on this photo because the shutter speed was fast enough to get a sharp picture. Also the nikon 300 f.4 afs ed is a fantastic lense which did help,i would highly recommend this lense. In my camera bag
I don't have a great deal of equipment really i have 4 lenses which are nikon dx 18-55, tamron 18-270 pzd, tamron 90mm f.2 and my firm favourate the nikon 300 f.4 afs ed.The only camera i have is the nikon d5100.Feedback
The best advice i have been given is to be patient on any situation no matter what you like doing, especially if you like taking photos of birds, but you need a lot of time and especially a lot of luck.Always try and get the light behind you, try not to take a picture with the light shining on the subject.
