This photo captures the moments that define the relationship between dog and owner. Moments when you just feel like if you don't have anyone, you have man's best friend. I edited this photo with this beautiful artistic color and flare to seclude the background and focus attention on just the owner and dog to fit the mood of the image. Photography by Antonio E. Location
I took this photo outside of Brandywine park in Delaware. I saw sitting just in the back of the park, this artistic bridge structure that I had to walk through some shrubs and brush to get to. And immediately I saw the potential of the setting for some great creative shots.Time
This was an early morning shoot. So I was out there around 7-8am or a little later by the time I took this shot.Lighting
If you follow my photography you'll notice I'm a fan of natural light. I believe mother natural provides the best lighting and so I do most all my photography out doors and use the time of day to get the type of lighting I'm looking for.Equipment
In this particular shot I went with the Nikon D5100 with a Nikon 55-200 lens and hood, no flash.Inspiration
My model brought his dog along for the shoot and noticing the bond between him and his dog, I decided to make the shoot more personable by incorporating his dog in a few shots and they came out great. I felt I really captured the love and trust between the two. These were also a favorite for my model and I get quite a bit of compliments from dog lovers.Editing
I used Adobe Lightroom 5 for my editing and decided I wanted to use an animated effect with this shot to focus on the emotion and not so much the subject. I felt it had a much more artistic feel this way and kinda seemed as if the photo was saying, "here's a man who if not anything, he has his trusty companion, his dog". So I dubbed this photo, Man's Best Friend. In my camera bag
Well now I carry my Nikon D5100, Nikon 50mm lens, 15-55mm, and 55-200mm lenses, a Sony A5000 and 18-55mm lens, Go Pro 4 Black, accessories for each, and my 3DR Solo drone.Feedback
For me I found its not about having the latest most expensive camera. It's more about mastering one camera at a time and knowing how to capture the shot you envision with that camera. So try not to add the pressure of keeping up with technology and having the latest greatest. This explains why vintage cameras are still sought out by even professionals. Instead develope your skills and artistic eye through trial and error.
