Bold colours and well trodden decks. Possibly a trawler. The wheel is metal and connected to gearing. I am not a mariner but it makes me think that this is probably gearing for raising the nets or alternatively the anchor. Very interesting well exposed and composed photo, thank you for posting it is the project METALWORK AND ENGINEERING ITEMS
