Amway heir David Van Andel is building a two-and-half-story home with four bedrooms and 11 bathrooms on the Holland Channel, next to the iconic Big Red lighthouse, overlooking Lake Michigan.
The $3.6 million home's steel skeleton will be covered with stone, a cedar shake roof and cupolas for a traditional cottage look.
Amenities include a library, catering kitchen, theater, exercise room, lap pool and an indoor pool, according to public building permit records released by Park Township on Monday. The records were opened after MLive successfully appealed a township manager's attempt to deny any access to this public file and other public building permits in the township.
