Location
This photo was taken at the Dallas Arboretum during their tulip event in the spring of 2014. There were so many tulips that it was hard to pick where to take a photo.Time
I took this around mid afternoon, and it had just finished sprinkling.Lighting
The sun peaked out from behind the clouds and helped light up the tulips and the water droplets that the rain had just left. Since it was a little cloudy still the tulips didn't have huge shadows on them and therefore all of the colors seemed to blend together to make a perfect spring shot.Equipment
This was shot on a Sony A65, with a Tamron 18-200 f/3.5-6.3.Inspiration
Since I couldn't pick just one tulip I decided to take a shot that portrayed how many tulips were actually there. What better way to do that than filling the whole frame with tulips.Editing
The only thing adjusted was the contrast. I did this adjustment in Aperture 3In my camera bag
Normally, I carry around my Minolta 50mm f/1.7 and my Sony 75-300 f/4.5-5.6. And of course my Tamron 18-200 f/3.5-6.3.Feedback
Arboretums or botanical gardens are some of the best places to get great flower photos. There are so many choices and colors that you are bound to find a good shot.
