Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in The Presidio, San Francisco, CA.

Time

Early morning around 8AM. This is the foggiest time of day in the forest and lends a sense of mystery to the image.

Lighting

I liked the sunlight filtering through the fog in the forest and the green grass on the forest floor gives the image interest.

Equipment

I used a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi. I did not use a flash. The camera was handheld. f/8, ISO 400,85mm lens, 1/200th shutter speed.

Inspiration

The lighting and the fog.

Editing

I added a little saturation and adjusted the exposure but nothing else.

In my camera bag

I have two lenses that I use. A Canon Zoom/70-200/1:4/USM and a Canon EF Zoom 24-70/1:4/USM A remote shutter release/Satechi Canon EOS 5D body

Feedback

Going out very early in the morning where the fog is thick and the sun is rising at the same time creates interesting lighting. A tripod is important to use so that the f/stop can be higher to create more depth of field
