Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in my hometown. Chatham, OH. I am a self taught photographer, so I am learning something new every shot I take.

Time

This was a day when we were very restless and decided to go for a ride. I remember thinking how beautiful the sunset was. I had to get the shot before it disappeared.

Lighting

I love the way the sunlight is not directly in view. It softens the image.

Equipment

My only camera at this point is my Nikon D3100. The Lens I used is the AF-S Nikkor 18-55 MM

Inspiration

I love sunsets. I had to capture the beautiful orange hues and the way it looked like the road went on forever.

Editing

The sot as vivid as the actual sunset so I had to adjust the white balance. This brought out the warm orange hues I was trying to catch.

In my camera bag

Of course my Nikon D3100 and my two Nikkor lenses 18-55 and 55-200

Feedback

You have to be patient and always looking for the shot. I took several shots before I got this one. We ride around to Parks and different back roads so I can catch the sun setting. Patience and Practice are the two best pieces of advice i can give.
