Location
I took this photo in my back garden a few years ago on Bonfire night. We usually have a go with some sparklers every year.Time
It was in November so we probably went out at about 8 or 9 pm. There were fireworks going off in the surrounding gardens, which mixed with the sight of the stars gave a pretty unique view!Lighting
For this shot it was crucial that the sparkler was the only lighting!Equipment
Just used a Fujifilm s2980 bridge camera. Nothing fancy.Inspiration
The light paths created by sparklers always look amazing put disappear in an instant. I was just interested to see what it would look like to capture a snapshot of the patterns.Editing
No post processing, I think this image is best viewed as it was taken. In my camera bag
I only ever carry my camera with me as I don't really go on dedicated photo-shooting trips.Feedback
I'm sure everybody is aware of how to capture bright light trails at night - slower shutter speed. I expect this shot could have been just as easily taken on an auto mode. The sparklers provide a good light source but the key is really the patterns created.
