Behind The Lens

Location

Just outside the orbit of the moon. Actually in my living room.

Time

Around 5 PM

Lighting

Yes, The light areas on the ship are actually shadows that I converted as a black and white negative.

Equipment

White foam backboard and an old low pixel point and shoot cannon camera. I wanted to have that grainy texture that I remember growing up watching Gemini and Apollo spacecraft.

Inspiration

I created the ship out of about 60 household recycled plastics and wanted a more permanent visual to go with it.

Editing

Converted the original image to a black and white and added the Moon.

In my camera bag

Batteries.

Feedback

This is part of my series called "Sculptography". "Sculptography" combines both sculpture and photography, both created by the same artist, and re-imagines it in the digital age. If anyone wants to do something similar they need to actually create the sculpture they are photographing. Anyone can and has photographed other peoples sculptures and sometimes this infringes on copyrights. My main advice is to do something unique and different and always strive for what no one else has or even can photograph.
