Though rare in the wild, the kaka-beak is widely cultivated and a popular ornamental plant in gardens across New Zealand, its native country. Its common name comes from the resemblance of the flowers to the beak of the kaka, a large species of parrot that used to be common in New Zealand forests.
There had been a sun shower in the late afternoon, and the little drops of rain clung lovingly to the Kaka beak bud. The raindrops were reflecting the surrounding of this beautiful bud, telling their own tale of what was in view, wanting to be part of the story.
