Behind The Lens

Location

Horseshoe Bend, Arizona 5 minutes south of Page, Arizona in the Northeast part of the state.

Time

Early Morning 7am

Lighting

Great sunrise provided lots of light.

Equipment

Nikon D300, 18-200mm lens, tripod and shutter release. Camera settings focallenght 18mm, f/22, 1/4 ISO 100

Inspiration

The landscape. the river below the deep canyon walls and red stone.

Editing

Yes. In photoshop I straightened the image to get the horizon level. With the selection tool I enhanced the shadows, the river and and sky, added some saturation to the sky to enhance the clouds.

In my camera bag

My camera and lens, shutter release, several CF cards, mt iPad to transfer my images, a ND and Circular Polorizer filters

Feedback

My intent was to capture a panoramic view of the canyon but the camera and lens are DX-Format. So I took three images of the entire canyon and intented to merge them in Photoshop. The result was not what I expected. But the three seperate images grouped together make a nice statement.
