Lovely capture. Something to consider for "The magic of night lighting" group at URL: http://www.viewbug.com/photo-communities/the-magic-of-night-lighting

Location
When you travel a lot, people that you meet along the way will often (and reasonably so) ask you where are you from. Well, I always answer the same althought I have lived in quite a few places, I always answer Porto. And that might not be entirely true, cause i was born in fact in the city that Porto is connected to by this bridge, Gaia.Time
I had taken this shot before, plenty of times with plenty of diferent conditions, but this time was quite foggy, so I just couldn't resist the click. It wasLighting
The fog really difuses the light in a mystical way, so everytime i get the chance of shooting foggy mysty landscapes i can't miss the oportunity. Together with the long shutter speed this ended up slightly brushed and looking a bit ghosty.Equipment
No tripod but i definitly sat the camera. It was taken using my old Nikon D90. I don't have that camera anymore but it never let me down!Inspiration
This is one of my favourite parts of the city, the Riverside, and it just welcomes you to shoot at night. the lights around this area are really nice and when dimmed by the fog, even nicer.Editing
It was shot in RAW, as I always do when using digital, but I didn't post precessed it at all, except for some minor changes on a couple of basic levels. In my camera bag
I went fully analogic now, believe it or not, because of financial dificulties, but i kept my beloved Nikon F2 which i carry most of the time. When i feel like carrying something lighter, or when i need b&w and color film i choose to go with my minolta XD-7 also.Feedback
You'll need a tripod, even if you got more light, apart from that try to predict how the light will spread throught the image, specially the negative one, or where it will lack. Longer expositions will brush the image but you'll less "smoke" and more for, so that's up to you. Then just create the composition with that in mind.
