I had seen the balloon some time before and was tracking it in my car - I realised it was heading along the River Wye valley so gambled on getting ahead of it on a stretch where i could get close to the river. The combination of the still river, setting sun, clouds and a hot air balloon was impossible to resist.Editing
Very slight sharpening but otherwise untouched. In my camera bag
Very little! Cleaning kit/some filters (Cokin)/spare battery/tripod/pen & paperFeedback
I always start with the light - for me photography is all about the light...if the conditions look promising I work out what subject I think I want to cover and where the light is going to be best for that purpose. If I find the situation changes I simply chase the light until it feels right - then I look for the subject/composition that most appeals/works best. Keeping an open mind and being able to respond to what mother nature conjures up is what makes photography so much fun.
