Stunningly Gorgeous landscape. Colors are magnificent in the backdrop with the waves crashing on the shore. Beautiful.

Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo from the coast in Roquebrune in the south of France. It is a favourite place to for me to shoot as there are often rough seas there which give impact.

Time

This was taken just after sunset. I was disappointed when I saw the heavy clouds in the sky, but I waited in spite of that, to see if I had any luck.

Lighting

I always go out in the golden hours, as the photos are always more interesting and everyone like the warm colours. It is always good to take your change in spite of bad weather, as this is what give dramatic images.

Equipment

Nikon D90 18mm F16 I/13sec ISO 200 with a tripod. Using a ND grad.

Inspiration

I was with my grandson teaching him how to take photos and this was what we saw. Nice for the first lesson with my grandson!

Editing

I never do much post processing with my photos as I like to get it correctly in-camera and then just add a bit with saturation and if necessary contrast.

In my camera bag

I never take much with me where I live because of the weight, but on holiday I like to have a zoom lens and use it a lot. In addition I always take my macro lens for details as it can be very useful depending on where you are going.

Feedback

Go back always to to same place in all seasons and weather. Go either at sunrise or sunset for the warm colour as the magic is incredible and you will always be happy with your photos. Walk around so that you never have the same shot. There is no point of taking loads of the same thing. Never forget your ND grad - it makes all the difference. Set up your camera at home before your leave so that you have all the right settings.
