This plant can be commonly seen in Sri Lankan scrub forests. All parts of the plant contain colchicine and related alkaloids which are extremely toxic if overdosed. Tubers of the plant contains the highest concentration of colchicine and 10g of Tuber (around 6mg colchicine) can cause fatal effects in an adult if ingested.

Thanks so much Karen. Yeah, it can cause skin irritation if touched(Only if your skin is very sensitive) or can be fatal if ingested, especially its roots.

"2012 Floating Venus Fly Trap Awaits Your Arrival" Anyone who does not see this as being toxic needs to get out of the living room. Sri Lanka (Ceylon in my youth) beauty needs to be seen by everyone if the fancy takes you.
