Amazing clouds at the Oregon Coast. My granddaughters in action.

The day before the Eclipse (which, by the way, was fantastic). Edited with Luminar.

I was recently on the beach north of Seal Rock, OR. There were some fantastic waves.

There was a major fire in the Timberhill Natural Area (Corvallis, OR). Almost overnight, new life began to emerge.

This was taken under the St. John's Bridge over the Columbia River. 8 shots were focus stacked.

Smoke from forest fires as far away as British Columbia invaded our area. It did make for some outstanding sunrise and sunset photos.

Bandon Beach at any time is magnificent, but never more so than at sunrise.

It was a minus 2.2 ft. tide, the lowest of the Spring or Summer for this year.

An icon along the Central Oregon Coast. Best photographed just before High Tide.

Heavy smoke and a wide aperture created weird artifacts around the sun.

This neat rock on Quail Street Beach. Lots of geological history there.

Inspiration

This particular tree is an international icon, one of the most photographed trees in the world.

Editing

Because this tree has been photographed so often, I decided to try to give it a personal touch. The main work was done with the Photoshop Liquify filter.

If you choose to photograph icons, decide ahead of time how you will give it your own personal twist (either in capture or post or both). Part of this is to ask yourself if there is something unique and personal that you can do with this icon. Also be sure to capture a straightforward shot for the memory of having been there.
