The 1897 house belonged to Edgar Allen Poe who owned a brickyard. He was very successful and many of the buildings that were built from his bricks are still standing today in Fayetteville, NC. He is not the famous writer. There are about two houses still standing that the famous writer lived in that are located in Philadelphia and Bronx, NY.
