I bought an old photo-copier lens years ago in a failed attempt to make my own movie projector. It did come in handy as a make-shift macro camera. I would hold the 5 lb lens about 6" in front of my old Panasonic TZ-5 and move it back and forth to focus. Move it too far and you end up seeing the actual lens in the shot, like you do here.
