Behind The Lens
Location
This photo was taken at Dellwood Park in Lockport, IL.Time
I had taken my dog to the groomers down the street and decided to stop to get some practice. The photo was taken on February 4, 2012 at 1:53p.m.Lighting
I really liked the way that the sun was shining and casting the shadow on the walkway. The camera was set - ISO 400, f/8, 200mm - . To be honest, I am very much an amateur and even more so at that time...I have only been shooting regularly since September of 2010 and didn't have the lens I used for this shot until September of 2011. Think I pretty much lucked out.Equipment
I used a basic Nikon D3000 with my workhorse lens (55-200mm).Inspiration
I was inspired by the feeling of tranquility that came over me as I was returning to the car and coming back along the same trail where I saw the curve of the structure and the shadow on the walkway. It's always good to look back on occasion - totally different viewpoint than going the other way.Editing
Very little.....if any. Do not remember the specifics - but probably played a little with the contrast and brightness. In my camera bag
I carry one camera (the Nikon D3000) with four lenses. The one that came with the camera 18-55mm, the workhorse 55-200mm, a Nikkor Micro lens 60mm and a Signa 150-500mm. I very seldom use the 18-55. Usually use the workhorse.....but love to play with the other two whenever I have the opportunity.Feedback
I do not consider myself a photographer and therefore have difficulty giving advice to anyone. Having said that - trust your eye and practice. I have learned the most by: joining photography sites which give invaluable feedback to me and allow me to view the wonderful work of other photogs, taking as many pictures of as varied a selection of venues as I can, and enjoying the process.
