Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in the backyard of a farm in Michigan - I was obsessed with symmetry at the time and had just started messing around with color swap/accents on my camera - I love taking the real & making it look like a fantasy. Which ever way I direct my manipulation on pictures, is where my imagination is at the time in my head. Dreamers dream!

Time

I believe it was mid-afternoon. Somewhat gloomy but perfect for reflection. It was damp & not too hot out. I could smell Fall in the air.

Lighting

perfect for a cloudy day or else I don't think I would have gotten this shot. It was also very calm seeing as this reflection is off of the surface of water in a pool.

Equipment

Powershot digital camera, no tripod, no flash - my imagination with a simple camera can really do more than I thought !

Inspiration

In this stage of my photography I was obsessed with symmetry and saw it everywhere. Because of the stillness of the water in the pool. It was a perfect mirror image & I put a twist of color on it by using color swap. Everything green turns purple.

Editing

No, I did not :)

In my camera bag

I don't have a lot of equipment in my name. I have a Canon PowerShot SX40 HS - mini tripod & regular. I don't usually use my tripods often though. It's just me, my camera and my creativity :)

Feedback

Let your imagination run free. Manipulation is OK. The possibilities are endless & gives you a chance to create something completely original. Something that may or may not exist. Something that inspires out-of-box thinking & opens Pandora's box for the imagination!!
