Behind The Lens

Location

I usually travel around the place where I live to explore new road, new parks or new scene in the parks. It is my privilege to live in Canada because Canada brought to landscape 4 seasons each year, and each season has its beauty. This place is at the Port Credit harbour in Mississauga city of Ontario, Canada.

Time

I shot the photo in the afternoon. After a long day of studying I tend to enjoy myself as taking photos.

Lighting

While I was shooting around and the duck, I kept looking the sun to find the golden light at the sunset. At that time the moment of the Golden Light was very little.

Equipment

I did not use the tripod at all because the condition of light was already great. All I concern was: is it willing to create the mood if I take the shoot right on this time.

Inspiration

To me, taking photos is a hobby, also as a photojournalism. Every photo has its own story, this duck while I shot, he(or she) already injured, and he just sat there in the cold chill of weather. Luckily that he had his group to come after I left.

Editing

I didn't do much of post-processing. I just enhance the level mask and change a little contrast. Also, if I want to create different mood, I just make a different layer with solid colour, and change to screen layer, last I just turn down the opacity to get the ideal result.

In my camera bag

I usually have the Nikon D700, the 24-70mm F2.8, and the 50mm F1.4. I want to buy more lens to experience the power of Nikon but not this time, in the long run.

Feedback

To me, it's all about the moment. When you ready to go out, always check your battery (I have my grip battery to attach with it and 2 extra batteries in the bag. Also keep the function in the camera into continuous focus and the ISO to 400 to 800 in fuzzy day to capture the unforeseen events fast, because no one know it will happen.
