Pentax k10 with 18-55 lens. HandheldInspiration
I visited this place with my dog regularly to walk the trails around the ponds and love all the old farm buildings, houses, and the mill. Seeing the brilliant reds and orange of the maple trees with the blue sky and whispy clouds with no wind and white mill. Who could resist?Editing
Not really. Just did my name and date then an touch of oil painting. I love how the old buildings from the 1800s and back look as an oil paintingIn my camera bag
Pentax k10d, pentax k10, 18-55, 70-300, 50mm, and macro. Polarizer filter on all lenses, back up batteries, sd card and chargerFeedback
Take your time and try different angles at different times of the day. If i am close enough or visit a place often enough i will do trial shots in different settings. Lighting, weather, seasons, etc. I always go places like this when i have at least 4 hours or more on hand. I like to check out the subject, landscape from all angles and take a couple practice shots from each angle. What i am looking for is what is pleasing to the eye. That shot that just gives you great satisfaction. The shot that makes you want to go there and sit back, relax and take in the view. I am extremely picky. My shots have to be exactly as i see it in person. If its slightly out of focus or colors are not what i see in person i delete it. I am my own worst critic when it comes to getting these shots. I never rush just play with my settings and angles till i am satisfied. When that happens i will take about 10 shots of each angle i like. That is the biggest thing is patience and time. Never rush your shots because 9 times out of 10 you will end up with ok shots instead of ones that make you feel ecstatic! Also never settle for less than perfection to do a ton of editing to make the pretty picture. If you take your time you will get the perfectly clear pretty picture without the editing. I own no editing software just a freebie one i use to put my name and date on and sometimes paint with a filter.
