Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo was taken at the Belfountain Conservation Park. I had just started dabbling in photography.

Time

It was mid-morning.. "I knew I needed to capture that shot. My son was helping to keep the bridge clear for a moment to allow me to get this shot!

Lighting

To be honest, I really didn't know anything about photography. I just had my camera on auto and clicked away.

Equipment

Being a new photographer, my brother had given me his Nikon d300 body. On the advice of some helpful staff at my local photographers store (Henry's- insert plug) I bought a Nikon 55-300mm lens, and my steady hand.

Inspiration

I wanted to capture the beauty of the bridge and surrounding landscape as my eyes viewed it. I am in awe with this picture. A friend of mine had it blown up and now hangs on his wall in his office.

Editing

Being a newly amateur photographer, I had no idea how to 'fix' pictures I knew how to do it in my iPhone. I emailed this photo to my iPhone...bumped up the saturation, fixed up the exposure and the rest is history.

In my camera bag

I have a Nikon d300 body, Nikon 55-300 mm len, 18-55 mm lens and of course selfie stick!

Feedback

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Everyone sees things differently. If you see something that moves you...grab your camera and take multiple shots of it. From different angles, etc. Don't be afraid to experiment.
