Location
This particular photo was taken at the Kimberley Mine Museum in Kimberley South Africa.Time
It was shot an hour before sunset to achieve the "golden hour" effect.Lighting
An off camera speedlight was used to the left just to highlight the carriage. I did not want any lighting on the dancer as it was planned as a silhouette.Equipment
Shot with a Canon 6D and 70-200 f/2.8 L Non-Is.Inspiration
I wanted to take the subject matter (dancer) out of the normal surroundings identified with dancing and yet still capture the timeless nature of the art.Editing
Other than a bit of contrast adjustment there was no further post-processing needed. In my camera bag
My bag contains the following, please don't laugh as I know it's over the top : Canon 6D Canon 70D Lenses (all Canon) 50mm f/1.4, 85mm f/1.2 L , 100mm f/2.8 L, 17-40 f/4.0 L, 24 - 105mm f/4 L, 10-22mm, 70-200mm f/2.8 L, 2x teleconverter and two 586ex speedlights with remotes.Feedback
Always be aware of the light, it's the light that creates the art not you.
