Location
The place where I took this photo is ''Gorges du Durnand'' near Martigny, in Switzerland. Fitted out in 1877, completely renovated in 1987, the Gorges of Durnand offer an amazing entertainment which is worth to them being classified among ten most beautiful of Europe.Time
I went there in the morning with all my family and a family of friends. We reach it by a small bucolic path, lined with blueberries and with wild strawberries, which suddenly is transformed into a route of suspended footbridges of wood and staircases (330 walking(steps) all in all) offering magic visions to the visitor . Under its feet, the water of Durnand runs, bubbles, swirls, bouncing with crash in a succession of 14 waterfalls, quite more impressive the some than the others. Whereas the river rushes to the plain, the sky amounts to a slender blue ribbon over the dark cliffs. Count approximately the 1 hour for the stroll, the round trip by a small path through the forest. We began the visit at approximately 10h30, to finish at midday, ready to go to lunch.Lighting
Natural lighting is the best of all. At the time, i took this photo, I was not so experimented as now, so lighting is not perfect, a part of the image is burned. But I like this image for the emotion, the power of water.Equipment
I was equiped with a Nikon D40x Camera, standard lens 55-200mm, f/3.5-5.6, no manual setup, unfortunately all automatic setup. Now, I'l better equiped, with better knowledges about photography and I want to go again there to do better pictures. No flash, no tripod.Inspiration
The view, it's so wonderful. The nature offers us shows with an uncomparable quality.Editing
No post-processing, because i didn't know how to do. I have shooted only in jpg, not in raw, so i'm not able now to do post-processing many years later. In my camera bag
Actually, my equipement changes according to the type of photos I want to do. Landscape photography : Nikon d7100 APS-C, lens Nikon 18-300mm. equivalent to 24-450 in full frame. It is a very multi-purpose equipment. I want to try ND filters with this. Portrait photography : Nikon d800 with fixed focus lenses Nikon 50mm f/1.4, 85 mm f/1.8, 135mm f/2 and 180mm f/2. Sometimes a 70-200mm f/2.8 zoom to complete my bag.Feedback
Always have your camera with you :-) Let's be inspired by nature and all the marvels which she proposes to us, sometimes hidden in details
