About
Approximately 110 miles (180 km) from Reykjavik you will find the Icelandic town of Vik with the beautiful beach area Reynisfjara Beach in Reynishverfi . It is conveniently placed by highway 1 from Reykjavik city.

Nestling below the giant Mýrdalsjökull Glacier at the southernmost tip of Iceland, the beach at Reynisfjara is frequently lashed by Atlantic storms. In such conditions, the ever changing lacy patterns of white surf against the black volcanic sand are fascinating. The basalt sea stacks of Reynisdrangar rise 66 m above the stormy surf and are home to thousands of vociferous seabirds. According to local legend the Reynisdrangar are the masts of a sailing ship which was turned to stone when the trolls who were stealing it were overtaken by the sunrise.
