Location
This image was taken at a nature reserve in Sittingbourne, Kent, UK. I took this opportunity to have moment out on a lazy day with my daughter and my camera.Time
I had left my wife chatting to her friend around a cup of tea when I noticed that the midday sun had just past and a world of adventure awaited at the nearby nature reserve. By the time I had reached the point of the shot the clouds were rolling in for the late afternoonLighting
It was a lovely bright day with the occasional overcast which I preferred.Equipment
I had not long bought myself a second hand Nikon D3 with a 70-200mm lens and I was grabbing every opportunity to get to know it, handheld. My secondary camera and my first ever digital was the Nikon D50 with a standard lens, which my daughter was using.Inspiration
My daughter had been anxious to capture the rabbits in the field from a distance and although her standard 18 - 55 mm lens wasn't helping the matter, she was very determined. I had turned at this point in time to notice the perfect posture and concentration on my daughters face. I was quick enough not to think and just click at that moment before it was gone but I hadn't needed to worry as my daughter had inspired my for the rest that day. I was one lucky and proud father.Editing
My daughter and I had had a great day at the reserve and processing the images was fun at home as my daughter actually sat with me to advise on how we should process the images. She enjoys pictures in black and white because they look like pencil drawings (which she does a lot) and left the rest to me. I did have to do some heavy cropping on some pictures as the rabbits seemed a lot smaller to her than they were on the day.In my camera bag
I love Nikon pro cameras as they feel comfortable with my large hands and believe there is an empty battle for the best camera brand. My daughter held the Nikon D3 and was unable to stand with it but with the smaller, lighter Nikon D50 she became a photographer.Feedback
I, since this picture was taken have become a wedding photographer. I believe my sense of 'people watching' and passion for 'photojournalism' means I am a hunter for emotion, which is a great way of saying, keep your eyes open and not always on the ball.
