The photo was taken on a cold winters day in december very cold and and frosty ,it was taken at Rudyard lake in Staffordshire. It was constructed in the late 18th century to feed the Caldon canal .Time
We walked along the miniature railway track that runs along the side of the lake which you can see in the picture .The time was early morning the sun was just coming up and shining on the water ,which caused the mist because it was very cold .Lighting
The light was perfect with the sun shining through the trees enhancing the mist .This is what i used to create the image that you see in the picture .Equipment
This was used with a nikon d7000 cant rememeber what lense .Inspiration
I loved the colours of the trees and the leaves and they way that the sunshine was shining through the trees . It was magical seeing the sunshine rays through the trees and the mist .Just loved the leading lines of the railway track that seemed to go on forever.Editing
Yes i shoot in raw ,i did use post - processing just to change the colour slightly so it wasn't the usual colours of winter ,just fancied something different to the norm .In my camera bag
I always carry everything in my camera bag because you never no what you might come across ,nikon d7000 tamron 150 to 600mm sigma 105mm 2.8 and a tokina 11 to 16mm tripod and gimbal with all my filters .Also cleaning cloths and blower and spare batteries for camera .I also have a rapid flash .Feedback
The best time to get a similar shot is to wait for a cold and sunny day and you will see the mist rising around the sunshine rays and gives the effect that you get through the trees .Patients is a must sometimes you have to wait for wonderful things to happen .
