"Slugabed" is the perfect description for someone too lazy, too slothful, too sluggardly to drag themselves out of bed. As far as I know, the word was coined by Shakespeare and first used in Romeo and Juliet. In Act V, Scene IV, the nurse comes to wake Juliet from her "unnatural sleep" and says
Why lamb!--why lady!--fie, you slugabed!
At least Juliet had an excuse!
