Behind The Lens

Location

Hi. This photo was taken at Perranporth Beach in Cornwall UK. I've called this one ' Stepping Stones' I'm not sure how they were created I'm guessing its something to do with the old Mine Addits which there are a lot of over here. Where I live we are surrounded by beautiful wonderful landscapes and coastal views which all the tourists love. Cornwall is also the place that Poldark is being filmed in, plus Doc Martin and other well known films and drama series. This is why I love Cornwall.

Time

This photo was taken somewhere between 12 and 4pm one afternoon after I'd finished work.

Lighting

The time of taking the photo the sun was setting over the stones giving the look I wanted.

Equipment

I used my Nikon d3100, no other equipment was used in the taking of this shot

Inspiration

Purely the love for the beach, Perranporth hold special memories for me as a child I used to go there with my disabled mum who'd tie a rope around my waist, let me go and play then when it was time to go she'd pull on the rope. This was a journey we made a lot. Now I work near there and spend as much time as possible taking photos of the beach which is 3 miles long and has the only pub on the beach.

Editing

I tend to shoot in Jpeg, only recently started using Raw. For this photo I might altered the contrast to enhance the stones, and saturation.

In my camera bag

Well, usually my 55-300mm Nikon lens, 18-55 kits lens, various filters, wide angle lens, cleaning equipment, handbook for my camera. spare sd cards and batteries.

Feedback

Keeping a note of sunrise and sunset times, along with tide times to ensure your not cut off from a beach as down in Cornwall it is possible. Patience is also a key point to remember. Sorry that is all I can think of. I've never completed one of these before as writing is not really my thing, but I've had a go.. Than you for asking..
