Location
This photo was taken in a wheat field in Bakersfield, California.Time
It was taken about an hour or so before the sun set.Lighting
I had my model face towards the camera and had her back towards the sun in order to create the beautiful rim light on her hair and body.Equipment
In this particular photo I used my old Canon Rebel xti with the 18-55 mm kit lens with all natural lighting and no extra reflectors used.Inspiration
This photo was taken before I decided I wanted to make photography my career. My friend and I wanted to go out and have some fun with my camera and this photo shoot actually made me realize how much love I have for photography. This photo got me my first paying photography jobs.Editing
I didn't do much post-processing with this image because it was before I knew how to do anything in Photoshop or Lightroom. I slightly lightened the image as well as a little contrast, but other than that this scene was as beautiful as you see!In my camera bag
I currently carry a Canon 60D with a few lenses including my Canon 85mm f/1.8 for portraits, Rokinon 8mm f/3.5 fisheye lens for scenic shots, as well as my 18-135mm kit lens for multiple use. As well as my camera and lenses I always carry my LumoPro 180 Flash and Canon 580EX Flash, MagMod flash gels, a light meter, a white balance card, a reflector, a trigger remote and extra batteries.Feedback
Always think about the lighting in your photos. Lighting is the most important part of photography and can dramatically change a photo. Although it is important to focus on your model and their role in the photograph, you can't forget to check your background to see if it is too distracting.
