Behind The Lens
Location
This image was taken while travelling through Singapore, we had to cross under the bridges to get to where we wanted to go and my wife actually stopped to look at the structure and that is when i noticed the way the light was hitting the edges of the bridge.Time
This was late morning as we where walking around the city and where actually looking for a place to go and grab lunch, the light was really harsh but when I made it B&W it works.Lighting
As I said before due to the image been taken in the middle of the day with direct sunlight it created a nice contrast between the dark of the water and the light of the space between the bridges. The light hitting the lines of the bridge create a great perspective and really reveal the beauty of this bridge.Equipment
This was shot on my old Nikon D80 with a Sigma wide angle lens with out a tripod. I just rested the camera on the railing of the sidewalk to give that extra stability.Inspiration
Truth be told it was just a lucky find, I love architecture photography and normally the under belly of a bridge is neglected and if it was not fro my wife stopping to look I probably would have missed it but luckily she did and the unique aesthetics of this bridge was revealed.Editing
Yes I did. First it was converting to B&W and then boosting the contrast and finally a lot of dodge and burning to balance the lighting and to bring out the features of the image. In my camera bag
Today my bag is a lot bigger and heavier than when i too this image. Then all I had was s small backpack with my Nikon D80, Sigma Wide angle and a Nikon zoom lens and some memory cards. Today I will have my Nikon D850, 16-35mm Nikon lens, ND filters, release trigger, 85mm Nikon, 50mm Nikon and a 70-200mm Nikon lens with me all the time.Feedback
Keep you eye open you never know what is around the next corner and spend time at a place watching how the light work and be patient we are in the art of capturing light.
