The 800-meter cable-stayed bridge with one hinged pylon is a real symbol of Rotterdam, a city that rose from the ashes after the barbaric bombing of the Luftwaffe in 1940. Perhaps this should be the symbol of the city with the largest port in Europe and the most international population in the Netherlands. And the appropriate name is in honor of the great humanist Erasmus of Rotterdam.
