A huge American Bison suns himself in the cool prairie area north of the Denver Metro Area. I observed a several Black-billed Magpies landing and taking off of the backs of these behemoths. The bison dredges up bugs, worms, and other insects for the magpies to eat but also provide a service to the bison by finding a picking off the various bug (ticks) that want to feast on these beautiful creastures. Nice trade off!
