My son's first, (*likely) memorable snowfall: aged two years.
After escaping a ten year (the childrens lifetimes), DV abusive relationship, with my childrens narcissistic father (whom we also codependently shared the same toxic environment). This was our first winter, first "big" snowfall, since we made it out.
This particular photo still stands out to me, a whole five years later. I now hold a completely new and different perspective.
I feel that this image accurately portrays the inherent goodness of a (*developing) child. It captures not only, the natural beauty; of freshly fallen snow and early morning rays of sunshine — but also, the physical beauty; of a child's perfectly pure Innocence innocence, wrapped in empathy and warmth, protected by resilience, while not leaving out, the LOVE & SURVIVAL, of a mother.
