The Old Ausable Channel (sometimes called "the cut") runs through the Pinery Provincial Park, parallel to Lake Huron's shoreline from the Ausable River in Grand Bend to the Ausable River in Port Franks, Ontario, Canada. There are many stories of how the channel came to be (natural versus manmade), but I don't think anyone really knows. Regardless, it is a wonderful space for calm canoeing, kayaking, and paddle boarding, or to simply hike along.
