Blast Beach, County Durham, England, UK. The opening scene for Alien 3 was shot here, emulating the alien planet Fiorina 161. This beach is named after the blast furnaces which stood nearby and their dumped remnants are still scattered along the shore despite huge clean up efforts making it much more habitable than it was.
